Biratnagar– Nepali Congress (NC) president Sher Bahadur Deuba has lauded the government’s decision to ban the illegal and terrorist activities of Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party.
Talking to journalists at the Biratnagar Airport in Biratnagar today, leader Deuba clarified that the government’s move was appropriate as it aimed at curbing the violation of people’s right to security, structural damages, extortion and arousing terror among people.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday had decided to put an all-out ban on Chand-led NCP activities. The Chand-led group has time and again ignored the government’s call for dialogue.
Deuba also was all praises for the agreement between government and the CK Raut who earlier led secessionist movement that was aimed at bring Raut in the mainstream politics and make the constitution acceptable to the disgruntled parties.
The former Prime Minister was of the view that if any the clauses of 11-point agreement made with Raut deals with conducting referendum, it was bound to bring a bad luck to the country.
On the other note, he asserted that the convicting Resham Chaudhary, a culprit of Tikapur carnage, meant serving justice to as many as nine people who lost their lives, including a two-year-old toddler, to the unpleasant incident in Tikpaur of Kailali district in 2015.
Deuba opined that the incident was a criminal one as the cadres of Tharuhat had called the security personnel to come without arms and ammunition for talks but they went on to kill eight security personnel and a toddler.
The NC president shared that he could not hold a talk with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli regarding the embezzlement of fund in the procurement of the two wide-body aircrafts of Nepal Airlines Corporation. He opined that the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) should launch a probe into the case and bring facts to the fore.
