PM Modi Announces Fast-Track Courts for NEET Exam Paper Leak

New Delhi. Amidst nationwide protests over the NEET exam paper leak case, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the establishment of fast-track courts to quickly and strictly punish those involved in the paper leak. He clarified that no one who plays with the future of the youth will be spared and has directed the concerned authorities to immediately proceed with all necessary procedures.

Through the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi stated that the future of the youth is the government's top priority and that a special court will be formed to bring those involved in the paper leak to legal scrutiny and ensure swift punishment. He added that the government will continue to take further steps to protect the interests of students and that no one who attempts to harm the future of the youth will be let off.

This announcement from the Prime Minister comes amidst protests taking place in various cities including Delhi, with the 'Chalo Sansad' campaign starting from July 20. The protesting parties have put forward three main demands for the cessation of the movement.

Saurabh Das, spokesperson for the movement, has demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, compensation of one crore rupees to the families of students who committed suicide due to the NEET paper leak, and the withdrawal of all cases registered against peaceful protesters. He also stated that a government guarantee is sought that such cases will not be filed against participants of peaceful protests in the future.

Das emphasized that the Education Minister's resignation is an unchangeable demand of the movement and clarified that the movement will continue until the demands are met.

Meanwhile, Union Health Minister JP Nadda has urged not to politicize the serious issue of paper leaks, stating that a serious and deep discussion is necessary on this matter.

According to Das, discussions have been held multiple times with protestor Sonam Wangchuk, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, and an agreement has been reached to keep the movement completely peaceful. Das informed that Wangchuk has also publicly appealed to the protesters to exercise restraint and continue the movement peacefully.

He alleged that in past movements, attempts have been made to defame peaceful protests by infiltrating them with anti-social elements, and urged vigilance to prevent such a situation from recurring this time.

According to the Delhi Police, more than 118 police personnel, including senior officers from Special Commissioner to Assistant Commissioner level and women police, were injured in the clashes during the protest. It is reported that about 60 protesters were also injured in the incident.
