Nepal Everest Film Festival Winners Awarded $10,000 USD in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Winners of the 'Nepal Everest Film Festival' held in China were awarded cash prizes totaling 10,000 US dollars and awards in a ceremony held in Kathmandu. 'Angela' was declared the best film at the festival held in Changsha, Hunan Province, China from April 14 to 19, receiving a prize of 4,000 dollars.

'Tel Visa's' Shankar Ghimire received 2,000 dollars as the best director. Deepakraj Giri from 'Chhakka Panja' was declared the best actor and Miruna Magar from 'Kabaddi 4' was declared the best actress. They each received one thousand dollars.

Purushottam Pradhan from 'Mahajatra' received the award for best cinematographer and 'Hostel 3' received the award for best editing, each receiving one thousand dollars.

A team comprising Chinese professors, film experts, and film college students led by Dr. Simon Qiu evaluated the films, the organizers informed.

A Chinese delegation of eight members, including Hollywood director Chen Shi-zheng, had arrived in Kathmandu for the award distribution. Chairman of the Film Development Board, Dinesh DC, senior actor Harihar Sharma, among others, were present at the program.
