One Dead, One Injured in Motorcycle Collision in Madhyapur Thimi

Bhaktapur. One person has died and one person has been seriously injured in a collision between two motorcycles at SS Chowk in Ward No. 5 of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, Bhaktapur. The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon.

The accident involved motorcycle number Province 3-02-012 Pa 2905, which was crossing the road from SS College and heading towards Bagmati Petrol Pump, and motorcycle number Ba.Pra.02-022 Pa 2906, which was going from New Thimi Chowk towards Radheradhe. The injured were taken to Madhyapur Thimi Hospital Bhaktapur for treatment.

The driver of motorcycle number Ba.Pra.02-022 Pa 2906 died during treatment at 2:25 PM. The deceased has been identified as Kabir Karki, 16, from Ward No. 2 of Katari Municipality, Udayapur, who was residing in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

Aliya BK, 19, residing in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, who was riding pillion on the same motorcycle, is in serious condition. She is undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Manish Rai, 24, from Ward No. 2 of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, Khotang, who was residing in Balakot Water Tank, Bhaktapur, the driver of the other motorcycle, Province 3-02012 Pa 2905, has been discharged. He has been taken into custody by the Thimi Police Circle, Bhaktapur, immediately after his discharge.

Information Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Karki, informed that both vehicles involved in the accident have been taken under the control of the District Traffic Police Complex, Chundevi, Bhaktapur, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
