Central Investigation Bureau Celebrates 16th Anniversary with Honors

Kathmandu. The 16th establishment day and anniversary of the Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has been concluded with various programs. The anniversary was celebrated with the objective of the liveliness of institutional ownership, remembrance of the past, review of the present, and strategic roadmap for the future at The Blue Pavilion of Nepal Police Club located in Bhrikutimandap.

As a first phase, an interactive program with former Bureau chiefs was held for the greater good and prosperous future of the Bureau. Similarly, in the second phase, an official program was organized with the chief hospitality of the organization chief, Inspector General of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar. 

The program was attended by chiefs and representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Law, Ministry of Communications, Supreme Court, Directorate of Execution of Judgments, High, Special and District Government Attorney Offices. Similarly, chiefs and representatives from the Department of Investigation of Money Laundering, Department of Management of Proceeds of Crime, National Cooperative Regulatory Authority, Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation, Nepal Rastra Bank, Financial Information Unit, Securities Board of Nepal, Nepal Stock Exchange, as well as the Chairman of the Federation of Nepali Journalists were also present at the program.

On the occasion of the anniversary, two former chiefs of the Bureau, various government bodies, partner organizations, and stakeholders who have made significant contributions to crime investigation and control in coordination and cooperation with the Central Investigation Bureau were honored with certificates of appreciation.

Furthermore, two investigation officers who served in the Central Investigation Bureau and have now retired were also honored with certificates of appreciation, according to a press release issued by the Bureau's spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police Anupamshamsher Jabra.

The CIB was established to conduct specialized investigation of crimes based on the seriousness of the crime investigated by the police according to the prevailing law, the nature of the crime, the gang involved in the crime, or the impact it has on the peace and security of society.

The Central Investigation Bureau started its operations from August 1, 2010, with the intention of assisting in the investigation and inquiry of crimes being conducted by any other police office.
