Police Arrest Intermediaries at Jadibuti for Harassing Passengers

Kathmandu. Police have taken intermediaries under control from Jadibuti, Kathmandu. They have been arrested on the charge of harassing passengers trying to go from the valley to the east by pulling and dragging them in public transport vehicles.

SSPsantosh Khadka of the Valley Crime Investigation Office told Ratopati that 32 people were arrested from Jadibuti on Thursday morning.

Arniko Yatayat operates a bus park in Jadibuti from where buses going to Ramechhap, Dolakha, and Sindhupalchok depart. Small vehicles going to the Terai and eastern regions also depart from there. SSP Khadka informed that intermediaries used to pull passengers' bags in the name of arranging seats in vehicles and misbehave with women by holding their hands in an indecent manner, according to complaints received. SSP Khadka informed that further investigation will be done after checking the details of the accused in the police CRS (Criminal Record System).

The Valley Crime Investigation Office had arrested 17 intermediaries from the Balkhu area of Kathmandu on Wednesday. SSP Khadka said that the investigation is ongoing against those arrested yesterday.
