UAE Foreign Trade Minister Meets Nepali Foreign Minister, Discusses Bilateral Relations

Kathmandu. A delegation led by the United Arab Emirates' Foreign Trade Minister Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi held a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal. The Ministry has stated that in-depth discussions were held on strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates during the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

Discussions were held on topics such as trade, investment, AI, digital transformation, tourism, labor migration, infrastructure development, and renewable energy, the Ministry has stated.

It has been reported that discussions were held between the two sides on increasing investment in Nepal through the UAE's 'Sovereign Wealth Fund'. Foreign Minister Khanal expressed his views on the friendship and growing cooperation between the two countries. In the discussion, he requested the removal of the existing system where the UAE government re-certifies the police reports of Nepali citizens that have already been certified by Nepal's Department of Consular Services, and to make the process easier, it has been stated.

Minister Khanal informed that the government has a plan to celebrate the golden jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the UAE as a special celebration.

Minister Khanal mentioned that Nepal desires to bring UAE investment into various development projects in Nepal to make the occasion special, the Ministry has stated.
