Robbery Attempt Foiled by Mobile Shop Owner in Lalbandi, Sarlaahi; Gunfire Exchanged

Sarlaahi. A robbery attempt was made by firing a gun in Lalbandi, Sarlaahi last night. An unidentified group attempted to loot by firing a gun on the road at the border of Lalbandi Municipality-7 and 3 during the night.

Police said that three people who came on a motorcycle tried to rob Hariprasad Sapkota, who operates a mobile shop in Lalbandi Bazaar and is a resident of Lalbandi Municipality-7, while he was going home after closing his shop at night.

"An attempt was made to loot a person operating a mobile shop in Lalbandi Bazaar by blocking the road in a secluded place after diverting him at night," said District Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Ved Prasad Gautam. "When he resisted, they fled after firing a gun. We are investigating."

He said that after Sapkota, who was going home on a motorcycle, resisted the group of robbers, they fled after firing a shot from an unlicensed pistol. Police have also recovered a bullet casing fired from an unlicensed pistol from the scene.
