Jaleshwor – The Jaleshwor-Bardibas road section in Mohattari which had remained closed for the past four days due to a protest against the murder of an eight-month-old girl after abduction, resumed today.
The people of Aurahi municipality agreed to withdraw their protest, following a commitment from authorities concerned to arrest the guilty in the killing of the girl. The body of Sonali Kumari Chaudhary, daughter of Santosh Chaudhary of Aurahi-1, was recovered from the forest area last Monday, a day after her kidnapping.
Earlier on Saturday, a meeting attended by Province 2 Minister of State for Social Development, Abhiram Sharma, District Coordination Committee chief Suresh Singh, Nepali Congress district president, representatives from local and police administration vowed to arrest the guilty by September 5.
