Suicide cases on rise in Dang

Dang – The cases of suicide are increasing in Dang at an alarming rate lately, causing concerns among the locals. 

The Police in Dang have unveiled that 620 cases of suicide were recorded in the last four fiscal years. Of them, 49.52 percent are women while the number of women killing themselves stands at 46.93 per cent and children at 3.55 per cent. 

Hanging has been the mostly used method of suicide among the recorded cases-63.06 per cent while consumption of poison accounts for 36.13 per cent, according to the District Police Office, Dang. 

Likewise, the statistics showed that people have taken their lives themselves by setting themselves ablaze, falling off a bridge or cliff and shooting themselves. 

The highest suicide cases were recorded in the fiscal year 2064/65 at 183.
