Ten Parliamentary Committees Meet Today

Kathmandu. Today, ten parliamentary committees are meeting at once. Among them, the Finance Committee meeting to be held at 3 PM will present suggestions including policy matters to be included in the budget for the fiscal year 2083-84 from the sub-committees.

Discussions on committee-specific issues will be held in the meeting of the Industry, Commerce and Labour and Consumer Interest Committee to be held at 2 PM. Similarly, at 1 PM, the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee meeting will hold discussions with the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the human rights of prisoners and detainees in Nepal's prisons and police custody.

Discussions are ongoing in the meeting of the Infrastructure Development Committee, which started at 9 AM, about the problems in public infrastructure construction due to the ongoing war in the Middle East. Similarly, at 1 PM, the Women and Social Affairs Committee meeting will hold discussions with the Minister of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security regarding the policy and program of the Government of Nepal and the upcoming budget.

Discussions will be held with the Ministry of Physical Planning regarding the issues observed from the monitoring of the displaced landless holding center in Banepa and the government's preparedness regarding disaster management in the meeting of the State Management and Good Governance Committee to be held at 2 PM.

The meeting of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee to be held at 1 PM is about the current status and future work plan of the Ministry of Information and Communications, while the Public Accounts Committee meeting to be held at 2:30 PM will discuss the issue of audit irregularities with the Auditor General.

Similarly, discussions will be held regarding the formulation of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084 in the meeting of the Development, Economic Affairs and Good Governance Committee to be held at 11 AM. The meeting of the Committee for the Monitoring and Evaluation of State Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities, to be held at 3 PM, will discuss the approval of the committee's working procedures, the progress report of the Gender Inequality Study Sub-Committee so far, and other sub-committee formations.
