Rabindra Thukulla Elected Kailali District President of Rastriya Swatantra Party

Dhangadhi. Rabindra Thukulla has been elected as the District President of Kailali of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) by a large margin. He was elected to the leadership in the election held in Dhangadhi on Sunday.

In the election where a total of 508 voters were present, 394 votes were cast. Among them, Thukulla received 335 votes. His closest rival Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary received 37 votes and another candidate Hari Regmi received only 22 votes.

Similarly, Ramlakhan Chaudhary has been victorious in the Vice-President post with 152 votes, leaving behind five competitors. Madanraj Joshi has been elected as Secretary and Ganesh Bahadur Shahi as Joint Secretary.

In the election area membership, Tankaprasad Jaishi Dhungana in Kailali area number 1, Krishnabahadur Bisht in area number 2, Basudev Gharedi in area number 3 and Durga Adhikari in area number 4 have been elected.

• Dissatisfied faction boycotts voting

Although the leadership was selected through a democratic process, this election could not be entirely undisputed. Candidates for president Hari Regmi and Mahesh Chaudhary boycotted the voting process, alleging that the election committee was illegal and that the voter list was rigged.

Even though they withdrew from the process by expressing their dissatisfaction, the election committee continued the voting. Due to the boycott, both candidates could not even cross 50 votes.
