Nuwakot – A person died and two others were hurt from the electric shock at Shantibazaar of Likhu Rural Municipality-1 in Nuwakot district this morning.
Local Tulasa Adhikari, 23, got in touch with the loosely hung overhead wires while walking along the road at 6:30 this morning and breathed her last on the way to Bidur for treatment, according to the District Police Office.
Lal Prasad Lamichhane, 55, of Shantibazaar and Sadikshya Poudel, 19, of Belkotgadhi Municipality-12 have sustained hurt in the incident. Both of them have been rushed to Kathmandu for further treatment following the primary aid in City Hospital, Bidur.
Chairman of Likhu Rural Municipality-1 Narahari Pandey said that the electric poles have skidded towards the road following the inundation caused by the flood in the river. The accident happened as the poles were not fixed in the safer site, Pandey said.
