CPN-UML Secretariat Meeting Convenes to Finalize Task Distribution

Kathmandu. The party central secretariat meeting is being held today to finalize the task distribution of CPN-UML leaders. 

The party chairman KP Sharma Oli is preparing to approve the proposal regarding the task distribution of leaders presented in the meeting held on Jestha 5 with amendments in today's meeting. According to UML Central Office Secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari, the meeting has been scheduled to be held at 11:30 AM at Chairman Oli's residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur.

The proposal of Chairman Oli includes the matter of reshuffling the responsibilities of the leaders. The party sources have stated that the task distribution will be finalized after a detailed discussion on the proposal in the secretariat meeting and it will be immediately sent to the lower committees and leaders through an inter-party directive (Apani). 

After the UML's 11th general convention held from Mangsir 27 to 29, only temporary task distribution of leaders was done. At that time, responsibilities were assigned to central members and office bearers to work focusing on the election to be held on Falgun 21, while this time, permanent task distribution is being done.

In this new task distribution, a proposal has been made for a major reshuffle in the responsibilities of the main departments of UML. Accordingly, Party Secretary Bhanubhakta Dhakal has been proposed to be given the responsibility of the Organization Department, Central Member Sher Bahadur Tamang the School Department, Bishal Bhattarai the People's Organization Coordination Department, and Dr. Surya Pathak the Publicity and Publication Department. High-level leaders of the party, i.e., Vice Chairmen and Deputy General Secretaries, are being prepared to be entrusted with specific responsibilities of coordinating and monitoring various departments.

UML has given high priority to the upcoming local level elections. Accordingly, a leader informed that most of the central members have been assigned responsibilities with the task of 'Mission Local Election' in Chairman Oli's proposal.
