Weather Forecast: Rain and Heatwaves Expected in Parts of Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, the influence of westerly wind, local wind, and a low-pressure area near the eastern part of Nepal is present, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated. Due to this, currently, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces' hilly and high hilly areas have generally cloudy skies, while the rest of the country has partly cloudy skies. In some places in Gandaki and Bagmati provinces, moderate rain with thunderstorms is occurring.

This afternoon, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with the hilly and high hilly areas of the remaining provinces, will generally be cloudy. The Terai region of Lumbini Province will have partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the Terai region will be mainly clear. 

In some places in the hilly and high hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, in some places in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki provinces, and in a few places in the hilly and high hilly areas of Lumbini and Karnali provinces, moderate rain with thunderstorms is possible. A heatwave is possible in the hilly and Terai regions of Sudurpashchim Province, and hot days are possible in the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini Province.

Tonight, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will generally be cloudy. The hilly and high hilly areas of the remaining provinces will have partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the Terai region will be mainly clear. In a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, moderate rain with thunderstorms is possible.
