IPL 2026 Orange and Purple Cap Standings See Shifts After RR vs GT Match

New Delhi. After the match between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans held on Saturday night, there has been a lot of fluctuation in the IPL 2026 Orange and Purple Cap tables. 

In the race for the Purple Cap, South African bowler Kagiso Rabada has captured the top spot, surpassing Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Anshul Kamboj. 

With two wickets against Rajasthan, Rabada's total wicket count has reached 18. He had previously won the Purple Cap in 2020 playing for Delhi Capitals with 30 wickets and is now back in form.

After Rabada in the Purple Cap list, Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings are in second and third place with 17-17 wickets. Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants and Ishan Malinga of Sunrisers Hyderabad are following with 16-16 wickets. 

Similarly, Gujarat's spinner Rashid Khan, who took four wickets against Rajasthan, has moved up to sixth place with 15 wickets. Although Jofra Archer also has 15 wickets, Rashid is ahead due to a better economy.

In the competition for the Orange Cap, the top three positions remain unchanged with Heinrich Klaasen (494), Abhishek Sharma (475), and KL Rahul (468).

However, after Gujarat's captain Shubman Gill played a explosive innings of 84 runs off 44 balls, he has moved up to fourth place with 462 runs. Gill's opening partner Sai Sudharsan has also secured sixth place with 440 runs after scoring 55 runs.

Rajasthan's young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 36 runs in a short but aggressive innings, bringing his total runs to 440. Although the run count is equal, Suryavanshi is ranked one place above Sai Sudharsan, i.e., fifth, because 'Suryavanshi scored runs at a strike rate of 236.55'. 

The double-header matches to be played on Sunday are expected to bring further interesting changes to both these tables.
