Chelsea Officially Confirms Signing of England International Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa

Chelsea officially confirmed the signing of England international player Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa on Tuesday evening. With this, the Blues team has further strengthened its attacking line.

23-year-old Rogers has signed a contract with Chelsea until 2033. The club announced this through its official website, stating that he will join Xabi Alonso's team before the new season.

Upon arriving at Stamford Bridge, Rogers has already established himself as one of the most talented young attackers in the Premier League.

From Aston Villa, he directly contributed to 40 goals in 85 Premier League matches. With his excellent performance, Villa secured fourth place in the league and also won the Europa League title last season.

Since debuting for England's senior team in November 2024, Rogers has become a regular member of the national team. He has played 22 international matches so far and also played for England in the 2026 World Cup, where the team reached third place.

According to British media, Rogers' transfer fee is 117 million pounds/approximately 138 million euros (approximately Rs. 21.41 billion). With this, he has become the second most expensive player in Premier League history. The only more expensive transfer was the deal last summer when Alexander Isak moved from Newcastle United to Liverpool for 125 million pounds.

Arsenal was at the forefront to sign Rogers at the beginning of the summer transfer market. However, Chelsea ultimately won the race in the final moments, snatching him from Arsenal's hands and bringing him into their team.

To announce the contract, Chelsea released a video of Rogers on its official X (formerly Twitter) page with the caption 'Chelsea chose'. This message is seen as a hint at the competition between Chelsea and Arsenal for Rogers.
