Three Local Bodies in Khotang to Operate Schools on Sundays Despite Federal Directive

Khotang. Three local bodies here have decided to conduct classes in schools on Sundays as well. The Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality, and Khotehang Rural Municipality have decided to operate schools on Sundays.

Although the federal government has directed that public holidays be observed on Sundays in educational institutions, these local bodies have decided to keep educational institutions open on Sundays. They have stated that the decision to conduct classes on Sundays was made citing the inability to complete the curriculum as per the federal government's decision. Classes will commence along with admissions starting from Baisakh 15, said Mayor Tirtharaj Bhattarai.

Earlier, the Khotehang Rural Municipality here had already started classes from Baisakh 13 after conducting an admission campaign until Baisakh 10.
