Heatwave Alert Issued for Terai Regions of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini Provinces

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that heatwave conditions are likely in the Terai districts of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces on Thursday. 

Currently, Nepal is experiencing the partial influence of westerly and local winds, which is contributing to rising temperatures across the country.

Heatwave conditions are expected today in areas including Dipayal, Dhangadhi, Nepalgunj, Ghorahi, Bhairahawa, and Janakpur. Maximum temperatures in these districts are projected to reach up to 42 degrees Celsius.

The Department has urged the public to take necessary precautions to stay safe from the heat.
