Nepali Congress Demands High-Level Probe into Home Minister Gurung's Case

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has demanded that the government conduct an independent, impartial, and high-level investigation into the recent case involving Home Minister Sudhan Gurung.

In a statement issued by party spokesperson Devraj Chalise, the government's attention has been drawn to ensure an environment for a fair and unbiased investigation, citing concerns that the probe could be influenced while the Home Minister remains in office.

“Our effort to institutionalize the politics of morality and integrity is not targeted at any specific individual or party, but is aimed at improving the overall political culture,” the statement reads. The Congress warned that any delay or attempt to cover up the matter would severely damage good governance and public trust, and demanded that a high-level investigation be initiated immediately.

The Home Minister has been embroiled in controversy following reports of a share partnership with controversial businessman Deepak Bhatta.
