World of Dance Nepal 2026 Officially Announced

Kathmandu. The Nepali edition of the globally renowned dance competition, 'World of Dance Nepal 2026', has been officially announced. The competition, its judging panel, and the prizes were unveiled during an event held in Lalitpur.

Renowned actor Dayahang Rai unveiled the competition trophy at the event. Rai stated that dance is a powerful medium for self-expression and believes it helps in carrying one's lifestyle and culture forward.

The organizers stated that the objective of bringing this competition, which began in Southern California in 2008 and has spread to over 50 countries, to Nepal is to showcase Nepali talent on the global stage.

The competition will feature renowned Bollywood choreographer and contemporary dance master Terence Lewis, along with Kiran Thapa and JD Tamu as judges.

Speaking at the event, National Director of 'World of Dance Nepal', Roshan Gahatraj, said the program was introduced with the desire to provide an international platform in Nepal where Nepali dancers can celebrate their craft.

The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of 100,000 rupees, a 24-karat gold-plated trophy, and various gift hampers. Auditions will be held in Nepalgunj on Baisakh 19, Butwal on Baisakh 22, Pokhara on Baisakh 26, Kathmandu on Baisakh 30, and Itahari on Jestha 2. The semi-final is scheduled for Jestha 21, and the final for Jestha 23.
