Prachanda Warns Against Constitutional Infringement and Erosion of Public Rights

Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has warned that any attempt to tamper with the constitution or strip citizens of their hard-won rights will be met with strong resistance both in the streets and in parliament.

Speaking at a program organized by the All Nepal Women's Association (Revolutionary) at the party office in Parisdanda on Saturday, Chairman Prachanda stated that while his party would offer constructive support to the current government, any threat to the constitution or national interest would trigger immediate opposition.

Expressing concern over the government's questioning of student rights and trade union privileges, Prachanda warned against undermining the rights achieved through long struggles and significant sacrifices.

He clarified that his party is not opposed to constitutional amendments, provided they are aimed at expanding public rights and strengthening federalism.

Furthermore, he noted that the party is conducting a serious internal review following unexpected election results. He emphasized that through self-reflection and organizational strengthening, the party can regain its electoral standing in the future.
