10th Bhaktapur Industrial, Cultural, Tourism, Agriculture and Trade Festival Kicks Off

Bhaktapur. On the occasion of the New Year 2083, the '10th Bhaktapur Industrial, Cultural, Tourism, Agriculture and Trade Festival-2082/83' has commenced today in Bhaktapur. Sandeep Mahat, President of the Industrial Peace Nepal organization, stated that the festival, organized at Sallaghari, Bhaktapur, features 180 exhibition stalls.

He explained that the grand industrial and trade festival was organized for the New Year with the objective of providing daily consumer goods and all necessary items to consumers in one place. He noted that daily essentials, food items, various types of clothing, footwear, agricultural products, and handicrafts are on display and available for sale at the festival.

He mentioned that the event includes exhibitions of industrial products, handicrafts, woodwork, pottery, local domestic products, information and communication technology, automotive displays, electrical machinery and agricultural tools, mobile and electronic goods, as well as trade and tourism exhibits.

The festival aims to promote local products, provide national and international brands at affordable prices in one location, and showcase Bhaktapur's art, culture, and traditions.

Festival coordinator Deepak Thapa stated that they expect over 500,000 visitors. A discount of 20 to 50 percent is being offered on goods sold at the festival. Residents from Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Kavre, and surrounding districts are expected to benefit, with free entry provided for senior citizens, people with disabilities, and children under five years of age.

The main attractions of the festival include a 'London Bridge' replica and daily musical performances by renowned national artists. The event also features a children's park, Ferris wheels, dragon trains, boat rides, various toys, and a food court.

President Mahat added that daily musical performances by famous national artists, comedy shows, fashion shows, and dance competitions will further enhance the festival's appeal. The festival will conclude on Baisakh 6.
