Independent MP Mahabir Pun Urges Home Minister Gurung to Work Without Political Pressure

Kathmandu. Independent MP Mahabir Pun has advised Home Minister Sudan Gurung to work fearlessly, without succumbing to any pressure or influence. Speaking to journalists at the Parliament building complex on Sunday, Pun recalled that in the past, Home Ministers were unable to work effectively due to interference from political parties and top leadership.

He praised the recent steps taken by Home Minister Gurung to end corruption and maintain good governance in the country, urging him to continue these efforts. MP Pun noted that previous Home Ministers often faced pressure from their own party leaders when attempting to initiate concrete legal actions, emphasizing that such a situation must not be repeated now.

'The Home Minister should not fall under anyone's pressure now; he must do good work,' he said. 'Whoever is involved in criminal activities must be brought to justice promptly.' He also encouraged the Home Minister not to waver in his mission and to deliver results in line with public expectations.

Clarifying his role as an opposition member in Parliament, Pun pledged that he would not be involved in fulfilling any political interests. He stated that he would support every positive action taken in the interest of the country and for good governance, but would always oppose any wrongdoing.
