Mid-Western University Seeks Government Collaboration for International Conference 2026

Surkhet. Discussions have been held with provincial and local governments to ensure the success of the International Conference 2026, scheduled to be organized by Mid-Western University from Baisakh 11 to 13.

A university delegation, led by Dr. Yadu Prasad Gyawali, coordinator of the International Conference Management Committee and Executive Director of the Directorate of International Relations, held separate meetings with Binod Kumar Shah, spokesperson for the Karnali Province government and Minister of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Mohanmaya Dhakal, Mayor of Birendranagar Municipality, Surkhet, at their respective offices.

The university team included coordinator Dr. Gyawali, member secretary Dr. Bishnu Kumar Khadka, members Dr. Laxmi Prasad Acharya and Dr. Pushpa Raj Acharya, and conference management committee advisor Prof. Dr. Purna Man Shrestha.

The meetings focused on various aspects of collaboration necessary to make the conference effective and grand. Dr. Gyawali highlighted the significance of the conference, its positive impact on the region's social, economic, and tourism development, and the message it conveys to the international community, while appealing for cooperation from both levels of government.

Minister Shah and Mayor Dhakal responded positively to the collaboration proposal, noting previous partnerships and pledging their full support for this academic event. Meanwhile, the university team also met with Balmukunda Mahat, the Karnali Province representative of Save the Children, to present a proposal for collaboration on the conference.
