Three Arrested in Sunsari for Brutal Assault on 13-Year-Old Girl in Forest

Sunsari. Police have taken three individuals into custody in connection with the brutal beating of a 13-year-old girl after she was taken to the jungle in Barahakshetra, Sunsari.

Following the circulation of a video on social media showing the assault on the girl in the Bais Bigha forest of Barahakshetra Municipality Ward No. 2, police intensified their search for the culprits. A team deployed from the Mahendranagar Area Police Office arrested Sudin Rai, Nishan Rai, and another 17-year-old minor involved in the incident.

Sudin, aged 21, Nishan, aged 20, and the other minor were apprehended by police from various locations between Chaitra 13 and 15. They have been remanded in custody after the Sunsari District Court granted a five-day extension for investigation into offenses against children.

According to District Police Office Sunsari Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka, detailed investigation into the incident is underway, collecting further evidence based on the video.
