Eight Arrested in Pokhara for Employing Children in Illegal Spa and Beauty Parlor Operations

Pokhara. Eight individuals have been arrested for employing children in illegal activities. The arrests followed inspections at various spas and beauty parlors in the Lakeside area of Pokhara-6, where it was discovered that children were being employed and illegal operations were taking place.

Kaski Police Spokesperson DSP Haribahadur Basnet informed that a joint team from the District Administration Office Kaski, District Police Office, and Ward Police Office Bhaidham conducted raids and took the operators into custody.

The police have registered a case against the arrested individuals under the offense related to children and have initiated further investigation. During the inspection, the minors working in the spas were rescued and sent to relevant organizations for protection, while the adult workers were handed over to their guardians or relatives, he stated.

Those arrested include 47-year-old Hom Bahadur Budhathoki, a resident of Pokhara Lakeside, originally from Udayapur Chaudandigadhi-10; 24-year-old Jonisa Shrestha Sunar, residing in Lakeside, originally from Pokhara-11; 23-year-old Sharmila Pariyar, residing in Lakeside, originally from Chitwan Bharatpur-6 Gitnagar; 42-year-old Suresh BK, residing in Lakeside, originally from Syangja Phedikhola-4; and 27-year-old Jivan Shrestha, residing in Lakeside, originally from Gorkha Gandaki Rural Municipality-8.

Similarly, 20-year-old Anjina Khatun, residing in Lakeside, originally from Rupandehi Marchawari-7; 44-year-old Raju Thapa Magar, originally from Makwanpur Indrasarobar-2; and 28-year-old Saroj Sunar, residing in Damside, Pokhara-17, were also arrested.
