Kathmandu University Ranks 122nd Among 507 Universities in US-Based HE Higher Education Ranking

Kathmandu University (KU) has secured the 122nd position among 507 universities globally in the 'HE Higher Education Ranking' conducted by an institution based in the United States.

In this 'ranking' involving 507 universities from 95 countries worldwide, 136 indicators were utilized to measure the impact of higher education at the university. This 'ranking' is reportedly focused on evaluating the operational capacity of emerging universities, particularly from South Asia, South America, and Eastern Europe.

The organization states that it assesses universities based on their actual operational processes and performance, presenting a fact-based overall picture. According to the evaluation report, the university has shown significant potential in facility and resource management, academic transparency, and future-oriented planning. A key feature of the 'HE Higher Education Ranking' is its emphasis on measuring policies, processes, services, outputs, and outcomes related to university operations.

The indicators included in the evaluation comprise inclusivity, sustainable development, transparency, accountability, research systems, campus security, internationalization, academic integrity, and digital access, among others.

The organization mentioned that the 'ranking' was prepared with the objective of guiding meaningful improvements in teaching, research, good governance, equity, and social impact.

In an email sent to Kathmandu University, Noora Abduljaleel, Secretary of the 'HE Higher Education Ranking', stated that this achievement is the result of the collective effort and commitment to education by the university's leadership, faculty, staff, students, and alumni. The email noted that this achievement reflects Kathmandu University's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

Prof. Dr. Hemraj Kafle, Director of Kathmandu University's Academic Excellence Directorate, stated that the report provides important insights into the university's institutional operations. He opined that it provided some significant information about his university's operational system and would help strengthen the necessary data for participation in other international 'rankings'.
