Film Journalists Association Expands Organization Across Provinces to Promote Arts and Culture

The Film Journalists Association has expanded its organization by holding conventions in various provinces and districts to establish film and arts-culture activities at the national level.

Central Chairman Samir Balami informed that the association, which has been supporting the film industry through communication, has expanded to 15 district branches within the country and eight branches abroad. According to him, the branch expansion was done to activate their activities not only in film journalism but also in arts, literature, music, theater, entertainment, and other musical programs. The association stated that the branch conventions were held in preparation for its 10th Central General Convention, which is scheduled to take place by Baisakh 5.

Through the association's branch conventions, Birendra Shah was unanimously elected as the chairman in the Koshi Province branch, Santosh Basnyal in Kaski, Suryanarayan Bik in Parsa, Subash Sankalpa Shrestha in Sunsari, Kapil Khadka in Makwanpur, and Prem Dewan in Morang.

Similarly, Govinda Aryal was elected chairman in Chitwan, Atit Yonghang in Ilam, Krishna Bhandari in Rupandehi, Bibek Nagari in Kailali, Ekraj Pradhan in Jhapa, Ramesh Kumar Pandey in Surkhet, Ramchandra Paudel in Banke, and Nirala Aryal in Dang.

The association has been conducting activities for its members such as skill enhancement programs, interactions, workshops, national gatherings, establishment day celebrations, national workshops, operation of a welfare fund, and providing assistance to sick members.
