Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' Shatters Box Office Records, Crosses ₹500 Crore Net in Five Days

Mumbai. The pairing of Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar has brought a tsunami to the box office. The action-thriller film ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ has demolished hundreds of Indian cinema records within the first five days of its release. 

Based on a spy story, Ranveer Singh plays the role of an Indian spy in this film, who sends crucial information for India from Pakistan. The powerful storyline and Ranveer's commanding performance have succeeded in drawing audiences to the theaters. 

In terms of business, the film has earned the tag of the fastest Hindi film to enter the ₹500 crore club, surpassing all records of Bollywood over the last 113 years. The film, which made a massive opening of ₹102 crore on its first day of release, had already collected ₹43 crore from paid previews alone. 

The film maintained its aggressive pace by earning nearly ₹80 crore on the second day, ₹113 crore on the third day, and ₹114.85 crore on the fourth day. Although there was a slight dip on Monday, the fifth day, the film collected a strong ₹65 crore, completing a net collection of ₹500 crore in India. 

‘Dhurandhar 2’s’ magic is equally potent in the global market. The film is doing enthusiastic business in the US, UK, and other countries besides India. According to trade reports, the film's worldwide gross collection has reached between ₹750 to ₹800 crore within five days. This has proven to be the biggest hit film of Ranveer Singh's career, and it has also surpassed the record of Aditya Dhar's previous film. 

This film, featuring excellent direction by Aditya Dhar, also boasts impressive performances from veteran actors like Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Rakesh Bedi alongside Ranveer Singh. The first installment of ‘Dhurandhar’ had earned around ₹1300 crore, and the pace shown by ‘Dhurandhar 2’ in its first week of release makes it certain that the film will easily join the ₹1000 crore club.
