Maoist Leader Biplav Vows Socialist Revolution Will Continue Despite Election Results

Kathmandu. Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav', the General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist), has stated that the socialist revolution will continue as long as capitalism exists. Biplav made this statement after the Maoist party, participating in elections for the first time, failed to secure a single seat in the direct election and less than 3 percent of the vote in the proportional representation category.

On Monday, through the social media platform Facebook, he stated that regardless of the outcome, the struggle among the people will continue steadfastly. 'Whatever the result, this is our shared fight. The leadership of steadfast struggle and construction in the interest of the country and the people will be maintained not just by reaching parliament, but from among the people. The socialist-communist revolution will continue as long as capitalism exists,' he wrote.

The Maoist party, which had been boycotting elections since 2070 BS, fielded candidates in 130 constituencies this time. He thanked all the candidates and leaders who worked in the front for reaching out to the people with hard work to present the party's ideology, policies, and objectives.
