Humla District Bans Alcohol Sales and Consumption Ahead of Upcoming Elections

Humla. The District Administration Office has imposed a complete ban on the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages across the district, effective from Friday.

Assistant Chief District Officer Rajendra Kumar Chand stated that the ban on the sale and consumption of alcoholic products is aimed at ensuring the upcoming House of Representatives election on Falgun 21 is conducted in a clean, fair, dignified, and peaceful environment.

A notice issued by the District Administration Office on Friday mentioned that the ban on sale and consumption throughout the district will remain in effect until the election is completed and the results are announced.

The administration announced that this decision was made to keep the upcoming election peaceful and orderly. Assistant Chief District Officer Chand stated that anyone found violating this directive by selling, distributing, or consuming alcohol will face action according to prevailing laws. The District Administration Office has urged all stakeholders and the general public to comply with the notice.
