2,025 Drivers Penalized for Traffic Violations in 24 Hours, Rs 1.04 Million Collected

Kathmandu. According to traffic police, in the last 24 hours, two thousand and twenty-five drivers have been penalized for violating traffic rules. The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has stated that Rs 1,048,500 has been deposited into the state treasury from this. Traffic police spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Nareshraj Subedi informed that 100 people who consumed alcohol, 107 who engaged in 'ride sharing' against the rules, 136 signal light violators, and 165 who sped were penalized. According to him, a total of two thousand and twenty-five people were penalized, including 58 who did not follow 'lane' discipline, 109 who honked in prohibited areas, 105 who parked vehicles on the road shoulder, 117 who drove on one-way streets, and one thousand and twenty-eight who did not follow other traffic rules.
