New Cinema Hall 'Friends Cinema' Opens in Ilam, Boosting Local Entertainment Options

Ilam. A new film hall has opened in the tourist city of Ilam. Following Dharan and Butwal, 'Friends Cinema' has launched its third branch in Ilam. 

The hall, located in Ilam Municipality-7, was inaugurated by actor Paul Shah and actress Usha Upreti during a program on Friday.  The hall, constructed with an investment of approximately 3 crore 50 lakh rupees, has a seating capacity of 188. 

This cinema hall, operational in the multi-story parking building of the municipality, utilizes world-class technology. According to Pradip Dhami, Chairman of Friends Cinemas, the hall is equipped with '2K Projection' and 'Dolby Digital Sound System', ensuring that audiences will experience sound and picture quality comparable to that found in expensive multiplexes in Kathmandu.

Dhami is joined in operating the hall by Pushkar Ghimire and Ashish Tamang. Operator Dhami stated that the compulsion for Ilam's film enthusiasts to travel to Jhapa to watch quality cinema has now ended.
