Bagmati Province Ministry Achieves 82% Performance in One Year

Hetauda. The Ministry of Forest and Environment of Bagmati Province has achieved 82 percent performance in a one-year period.

Giving information about the achievements of the ministry's one-year tenure at a press conference organized at the ministry today, the Province's Minister for Forest and Environment, Bharat Bahadur KC, informed that during that period, 73 percent performance was achieved in current expenditure and 86 percent in capital expenditure. He informed that the Provincial Forest Act and Environment Protection Amendment Bill have been prepared and sent to the Provincial Assembly during this period.

Minister KC stated that programs such as one timur garden in each district, one fruit forest campaign, one farmer: five bodhi-chitta, five rudraksha campaign have been advanced by the ministry under the innovation, research, and special campaign. He informed that integrated watershed management programs have been operated in each district under the watershed, environmental protection, and disaster reduction program.

Minister KC stated that programs such as green enterprise development along highways and support for the operation of the first evening jungle safari in Nepal have been operated under the green economy, enterprise, and employment program.

During this period, programs such as expanding institutional cooperation with local levels, strengthening the forest crime control system, and operating the green province campaign have been advanced, he informed.

Under policy and legal reform, he mentioned that 93 percent of the province's community forests have been made plan-based and informed that a policy decision has been made to promote the use of domestic timber in government buildings.
