Director Vishal Bhardwaj Reveals Why He Waited Decades to Work With Nana Patekar on 'O Romeo'

Mumbai. The film 'O Romeo' is receiving mixed reactions at the box office. For promotion, director Vishal Bhardwaj, actors Shahid Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, Avinash Tiwary, and Farida Jalal recently appeared on 'The Great Indian Kapil Show'.

During the show, director Vishal Bhardwaj made interesting revelations about his relationship with veteran actor Nana Patekar and his experience working with him for the first time. Nana Patekar plays a significant role in the film 'O Romeo'.

Although they have known each other for over two decades, this is Vishal's first time working with Nana. Kapil posed the question, "Why so late?" to which Vishal replied, "Actually, it is my fault. I never came up with a role that suited him. Everyone is afraid of Nana Patekar, whereas he is a very soft-hearted person."

Vishal mentioned that Nana was annoyed about them not working together, saying, "He used to remind me that he is an actor and kept asking when I would cast him. Finally, we worked together."

Vishal Bhardwaj's directorial 'O Romeo', produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, features an ensemble cast including Shahid Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Vikrant Massey, Disha Patani, and Tamannaah Bhatia.

The film collected ₹23.51 crore at the Indian box office in its opening two days.
