Supreme Court Orders Review of Resham Lal Chaudhary's Candidacy Rejection Case

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has ordered the completion and submission of the file according to the previous directive in the writ petition against the disqualification of Resham Lal Chaudhary, patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party Nepal, as a candidate.

A joint bench of Justices Balkrishna Dhakal and Nripadhwaj Niraula ordered that the file of the verdict related to the homicide case be presented as per the prior directive in Chaudhary's writ petition.

Previously, a single bench of Justice Dhakal had ordered the Election Commission to submit a written response to the writ filed by Chaudhary. Furthermore, both parties were summoned for a discussion regarding the interim order.

Justice Dhakal's bench had ordered the summoning of the writ file concerning the pardon granted to Chaudhary by Sharada Kadyat and the certified copy of the decision made by the Election Commission.

His candidacy, which was registered for the House of Representatives election scheduled for the upcoming Falgun 21 from Kailali Constituency No. 1, had been rejected by the Election Commission.
