Khushi Kapoor to Star in 'Mom 2', Sequel to Sridevi's Last Film

New Delhi. Veteran actress Sridevi's film 'Mom' was released in 2017. It proved to be a hit at the box office. Now, after almost nine years, its sequel is being prepared, and a major update has come in this regard. 

Khushi Kapoor is preparing to play the lead role in 'Mom 2'. This is a sequel to the 2017 hit film 'Mom' and is scheduled to release in theaters in November 2026. This film is being produced by her father Boney Kapoor and its shooting was done in Noida and Greece.

According to a report in Free Press Journal, 'Mom 2' will be associated with Sridevi's memorable role. 'Mom' was Sridevi's last film, so this project is considered very emotional and special for Khushi Kapoor, as she will be seen carrying forward her mother's legacy.

Khushi Kapoor debuted in acting with 'The Archies'. But her projects like Naadaniyan and Loveyapa did not get a strong response. That's why Mom 2 is considered a major turning point in her career.

According to reports, a source who saw the initial footage of the film said that Khushi's acting has improved significantly. He said that Khushi appears more in emotional depth this time and in some situations, a glimpse of Sridevi is also visible.

Karisma Tanna and Jisshu Sengupta will also be seen in important roles in the film. This thriller film is being directed by Girish Kohli.

'Mom 2' will not continue the direct story of the first film. Rather, it is reported that it will present a new story. The film will depict a story of justice through suspense, drama, and strong female characters. Mom was directed by Ravi Udyawar and Sridevi was awarded the National Award for it posthumously.
