Opposition to Ncell's Installment Payment Facility: Rajendra Lingden Speaks Out

Rajendra Lingden, President of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and Member of Parliament, has strongly criticized the government's decision to allow Ncell, a major telecom service provider, to pay its license renewal fee in installments. During a discussion on pending revenue at the Public Accounts Committee on Friday, Lingden accused the government of enabling corruption by providing such leniency to Ncell, especially as the company is transitioning to state control.

Allegations of Corruption and Revenue Loss

Lingden claimed that such concessions contribute to rising corruption in the country, leading to increasing revenue arrears. He argued that middlemen have taken control of the bureaucratic system, influencing secretaries, ministers, and even court decisions, which has deepened public frustration. "Ncell has already leveraged all its assets, yet we are offering them installment facilities. Who influenced this decision? This is why revenue arrears keep growing, because middlemen, politicians, and even the judiciary are involved," he stated.

Call for Systemic Reforms

Lingden emphasized that reducing corruption and pending revenue requires strong leadership from civil servants who prioritize national interests. He stressed the need for policies that prevent revenue leakage and promote transparency. Additionally, he criticized the recent trend of awarding large contracts to select companies without competitive bidding, warning that such practices harm the country's long-term interests.

The RPP leader urged the government to create a corruption-free environment and implement stricter financial accountability measures to protect national revenue.
