Two Women Attempt Suicide at Durga Prasai's Event

Kathmandu. Two women attempted suicide at a program organized by medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai. On Friday afternoon, while Prasai was speaking at an interaction program with editors at Kathmandu's Everest Hotel, the women shouted, "Tell us, or we will commit suicide." As the women, crying and shouting, moved towards the stage, the organizers managed them. Earlier, Prasai had stated that the country was caught in geopolitics and that foreign troops would arrive in Nepal during the upcoming Dashain. "Now, almost by the time of Dashain, foreign troops will land," he said, "The Dalai Lama will also protest those foreign troops." Prasai stated that the country's economic situation has reached an extremely dire state and that the country is in a very difficult situation, suggesting that 50 people might have to commit suicide in front of Singha Durbar and Baluwatar on the same day.
