Truck Accident Claims One Life in Udaypur

Udaypur; A tragic truck accident occurred at Jogipokhari along the Madan Bhandari Road in Udaypur Gadhi Rural Municipality-7, resulting in one fatality and one injury. The incident took place on Monday evening when a truck (Province No. 3-0100-6K 0561) heading from Kathmandu to Sunsari lost control.

Victim and Injured Identified

The deceased has been identified as 72-year-old Tanka Bahadur Lamichhane Magar from Rautamai-7, Udaypur, who was returning home from cattle grazing when the accident occurred. According to District Police Office Information Officer Kedarman Dong, Lamichhane died on the spot. The truck's assistant driver, 40-year-old Gome Darji from Kalinchok Rural Municipality-4, Dolakha, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.

Driver Taken Into Custody

Police have detained the truck driver, 54-year-old Nawaraj Raut from Banepa Municipality-14, Kavrepalanchok. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident as standard procedure.
