Stock market continues downtrend, NEPSE drops 13.53 points
Kathmandu, December 22 — The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped by 13.53 points on Sunday, continuing a recent downward trend.
The index fell to 2583.29 points amid sharp fluctuations.
On Sunday, 154 companies saw a decline in share prices, with Sapta Koshi Development Bank, Mai Khola Hydro, and Garima Development Bank experiencing the largest drops.
However, 84 companies saw an increase in share prices.
Shares of Support Microfinance, Barahi Hydropower, Nyagdi Hydropower, and Supermadi Hydropower hit positive circuits, while People’s Power Limited saw a rise of more than 9%.
A total of 319 companies had shares traded, with 9.18 million shares sold, amounting to a turnover of NPR 4.51 billion.
Investors showed interest in companies in the production and processing sub-sector, which saw a 1.57% rise in its index.
