Local by-elections: Maoist Center Chair Prachanda thanks voters
Kathmandu, December 3 – Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda", Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), has expressed his party's high respect for the enthusiastic support shown by the people, even surpassing the alliances formed in various constituencies.
Prachanda stated that this clearly confirms the endorsement of the agendas put forward by his party and the campaign it is trying to advance.
In a statement, Prachanda said, "Our party has taken this election as a new resolution against corruption and in favor of good governance. Specifically, it was an opportunity to clarify our party’s path and vision, focusing on the agendas of good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity that were initiated by the government led by our party. We have received encouraging success in both the number of elected representatives and public support."
He emphasized that the party views the expression of the people's will in this by-election as a mandate to compete with its own agenda and unique identity. Prachanda also committed to strengthening this overwhelming public trust and vowed to move forward with the campaign to change the lives of the people.
Prachanda further stated, “Our party is committed to safeguarding the political achievements made through various people's movements, strengthening the federal democratic republic, improving the conditions of the people according to the changed system, and simplifying service delivery to people's doorsteps through local governments. The local governments led by our party have been performing excellently, and in the coming days, we will focus on the core agendas of good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity, fully engaging our elected representatives in the service of the people.”
He expressed his gratitude to all the voters who cast their precious votes for the party in the local elections on December 1, and congratulated all the newly elected representatives.
Prachanda also thanked the leaders, activists, and supporters who worked tirelessly during the election, as well as the Election Commission, civil servants, security agencies, and the media for their role in ensuring the success of the elections.
