UML relieves Lillaballav Adhikari from all party responsibilities
Kathmandu, November 9 — The Secretariat meeting of the CPN-UML has approved the decision of the Koshi Province Committee to remove leader Lillaballav Adhikari from all party responsibilities.
The meeting, which was held on Saturday in Kathmandu, made this decision, as informed by party Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali.
He stated, "Serious questions have been raised regarding the Minister for Internal Affairs of Koshi Province, Lillaballav Adhikari. Therefore, the Koshi Province Committee's decision to relieve him of all party responsibilities has been approved. We hope that the state authorities will conduct an objective and factual investigation into the accusations against him, and the party has committed to providing full cooperation in the investigation."
Following allegations of involvement in human trafficking in Japan, Adhikari has already resigned from his ministerial and party positions.
