Two Arrested for Embezzling Funds by Promising Foreign Employment

Kathmandu. Two people were arrested on Friday on charges of embezzling funds by luring them with attractive salaries in foreign employment and promising to send them to New Zealand and Portugal.

Those arrested include Raj Kumar Bhandari, 51, of Rupandehi, residing in Tarkeshwor Municipality-10, Kathmandu, and Suresh Ghimire, 29, of Okhaldhunga, residing in Budhanilkantha Municipality-12, Kathmandu.

Among those arrested, Raj Kumar took Rs 3 lakh from two victims promising to send them to New Zealand, and Suresh took Rs 18 lakh from one victim promising to send them to Portugal, and then became out of contact. Based on the complaints of the victims, a police team dispatched from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, arrested Raj Kumar from Tarkeshwor, Kathmandu, and Suresh from the Chabahil area, Kathmandu.

They have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, for necessary investigation and action.
