Chitwan accident update: Death toll climbs to five

Chitwan, November 8 — The death toll from the accident that occurred this morning at the 17-kilometer point of the Narayangadh-Muglin road has risen to five. Five others have been injured, with one in critical condition.

According to Bheshraj Rijal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, the accident took place around 3:00 AM when a microbus traveling from Muglin to Narayangadh collided with a bus heading in the opposite direction from Narayangadh to Muglin.

The victims in the microbus included 42-year-old Rajbahadur Gurung from Arughat Rural Municipality-1 in Gorkha, the driver, 40-year-old female (identity not disclosed), and two male passengers aged 32 and 35, all of whom died at the scene.

Among the five injured, two are being treated at Bharatpur Hospital, while three others are receiving medical care at Chitwan Teaching Hospital.
