Bhaitika at Bal Gopaleshwar Temple for those without sisters (photos)
Kathmandu, November 3 — Those without sisters received Bhaitika at the Bal Gopaleshwar Temple in Rani Pokhari today. It is a tradition for the temple to be opened on this day specifically for those who do not have sisters.
The Bal Gopaleshwar Temple is open only once a year on this day. People without sisters or brothers visit the temple to perform prayers and receive Tika.
On this main day of Tihar, sisters traditionally apply a five-colored or seven-colored Tika on their brothers, wishing for their long life, health, and prosperity with devotion and faith. Although the auspicious time for Bhaitika was set at 11:37 AM, the Bal Gopaleshwar Temple opened early in the morning.
