SAFF Women's Championship: Nepal to clash with India for final spot
Katrhmandu, October 27 — Nepal is set to face five-time champions India in the SAFF Women's Championship today at Dasarath Stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu. The match kicks off at 6:30 PM.
The home team, Nepal, has advanced to the semifinals as the winner of Group B, while India qualified as the runner-up of Group A.
Nepal remained unbeaten in their group, securing 2 wins and 1 draw. Although Nepal and Bhutan both finished with 7 points, Nepal topped the group based on goal difference. In contrast, India, competing in a three-team group, recorded one win and one loss.
This encounter marks the second time these two teams are clashing in the semifinals of the tournament, having previously contested the title in the last four editions. Historically, Nepal has defeated India once in the SAFF Women's Championship, achieving a notable victory in the last edition held on home soil.
