Mehdi Taremi Leads Iran's National Football Team as Key Striker for 2026 FIFA World Cup

Kathmandu. 33-year-old experienced forward Mehdi Taremi is the undisputed captain and leader of the current Iranian national football team. He is entering the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup as the most dangerous and main goal scorer for Iran's 'Team Melli'.

Taremi, who has scored more than 60 goals in international football, will lead the Iranian attack in Group 'G'. Taremi, who has played more than 105 international matches for Iran, also holds a rare record.
