Metropolitan to provide explanation to Aviation Authority as Court dismisses Balen's writ

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has to give an explanation to the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority as the High Court dismisses Balen's writ.

On June 15, the Kathmandu Metropolitan removed the fencing of the Tribhuwan International Airport without coordinating with the Authority. 

The Director General of the Authority wrote a letter to the Chief of the Metropolitan Police and demanded an explanation within 7 days. However, the Kathmandu Metropolitan disobeyed the Authority's demand to provide an explanation and filed a writ in the High Court.

With the dismissal of the writ filed by Balen Shah, the Chief of the Metropolitan City, the Metropolitan has to provide an explanation to the Authority.

Otherwise, he will be fined up to Rs 50,000 in accordance with Section 25 (1) of the Civil Aviation Authority Act, 2053, the Spokesperson of the Authority Gyanendra Bhul informed.
